JCAC New Initiative: City Conversations
City Conversations
As an advocate for community and innovation, Jersey City Arts Council is committed to sparking dialogue that inspires action to support the local arts community. City Conversations is a new program designed to bring together voices from across sectors—artists, arts workers, businesses, civic leaders, and policymakers—to explore the forces shaping Jersey City’s creative landscape. Through thought-provoking panels and open exchange, the series aims to fuel collaboration, deepen understanding, and strengthen the vitality of our arts ecosystem.
Join us for our inaugural City Conversation: Arts Policy as Activism
September 8, 2025: City Conversation | Arts Policy as Activism
With an impending gubernatorial and mayoral election soon to come, how can arts policy inform a new path forward. This panel discussion will examine the importance of centering arts policy to promote a healthy arts ecosystem and thriving communities. What happens when you bring a policy expert, an arts advocate, an arts administrator, and an artist together to explore what a new future might look like for Jersey City?
How can we shape a new, shared vision for our creative community?
What systems will best support our artists?
What resources will help our cultural organizations thrive?
What policies will carry us through the next 10 years?
What programs will keep us engaged in ongoing dialogue about our opportunities and challenges?
Join us for an evening of networking, dialogue, and collective visioning.
Moderated by JCAC’s Executive Director, Deonté Griffin-Quick. Panelists TBA
