Arts and Culture Trust Fund

In 2021, the City of Jersey City passed legislation for the Jersey City Arts and Culture Trust Fund: a dedicated stream of funding for the arts in our city.

Cultural Assets Map

The Cultural Assets Map of Jersey City was created by New Jersey City University (NJCU), the Office of Cultural Affairs, and JCAC as a tool for identifying artists and organizations across the city, to better work toward a more sustainable and vibrant arts community.

NJCU Center for the Arts

NJCU’s Center for the Arts offers a range of arts and cultural activities, including Professional Development workshops.

Jersey City Office of Cultural Affairs

The City of Jersey City’s Office of Cultural Affairs is a proponent and advocate for the arts in Jersey City, and serves to provide opportunities, resources, and education for artists of all disciplines. They also handle permitting for special events.

Mural Arts Program

Initiated in 2013, the Jersey City Mural Arts Program is a Mayor’s Office Initiative that links established and emerging local, national, and international mural artists with property owners city-wide as part of an innovative beautification program that reduces graffiti, engages local residents, and is transforming Jersey City into an outdoor art gallery.

ArtPride New Jersey

ArtPride New Jersey is an arts service and advocacy organization, working to preserve funding and advance policies that invest in the arts across all sectors. They are a source for research, innovative programs and services, and high-impact advocacy.

The Bethune Center

The Mary McLeod Bethune Life Center, located in the Greenville community of Jersey City, offers residents and visitors an unparalleled experience to engage in cultural arts, fitness, wellness, and educational activities. They also provide space for meetings, workshops, trainings seminars, and classes, as well as rental space for private events and expos.

Hudson County Chamber of Commerce

The Hudson County Chamber of Commerce is a resource for driving economic growth—providing education, advocacy and access to chamber members throughout each community in Hudson County.

Hudson County Office of Cultural & Heritage Affairs

The Office of Cultural & Heritage Affairs strives to create an environment in which the local arts constituency can flourish, by providing advisory services, technical assistance, grant programs, audience development initiatives, artist round tables and networking opportunities, tourism, and related economic development projects.

New Jersey State Council on the Arts

NJSCA designs and carries out a dynamic program of financial and technical support services for New Jersey artists and nonprofit organizations. The Council has priority programs in arts education, artists' services, community arts development, folk arts, cultural facilities development, community cultural planning, and arts marketing.

Newark Arts

Newark Arts provides leadership, direction, and technical assistance through partnerships with Newark’s many artists, arts administrators, community organizations, community development corporations, planning groups, economic development agencies, and government agencies as well as the general public. Their goal is to share resources, develop collaborations and cross-functional opportunities, promote advocacy efforts, assist in audience development and public awareness of arts and culture, and serve as a cultural resource to the community.
