Arts & Culture Trust Fund
Jersey City has launched the Arts and Culture Trust Fund, which will create funding sources for the arts in the city. This fund will support arts organizations and artists that benefit the culture, well-being, and economy of Jersey City, as well as provide increased opportunities for arts education for youth. We are the first municipality in the state to create such a trust, and will be a model for other towns and cities looking to publicly support the arts in their communities. JCAC worked directly with the mayor's office and city council to advise on the structure for the fund and ensure that equity is built into the funding process.
As part of the trust, JCAC is managing the Individual Artist Fellowship, which will award up to 20 grants to local artists. Grants are also available to arts organizations and businesses in Arts Education, Programs and Operational Support.
