NOMINATIONS OPEN FOR 2021 JERSEY CITY ARTS AWARDS

The Jersey City Arts Council is pleased to announce that nominations are now open for the 2021 Jersey City Arts Awards! Anyone can nominate a local artist or arts organization for recognition, and winners will be announced in December. Nominations for exceptional members of our arts community can be submitted online through the JCAC website. The online nominations form can be found here

This is the fourth year the JCAC has presented the Arts Awards. There are 12 award categories: Public Art, Performing Arts, Visual Arts, Literary Arts, Architecture & Design, Arts Organization, Arts Education, Leadership, Legacy, Medici, Young Artists, and Film & TV. A full list of previous winners can be found here.

“The Jersey City Arts Awards recognize the many and varied contributions that artists and organizations make in our community,” said Heather Warfel-Sandler, chair of the JCAC. “We are proud to celebrate the diverse artistic landscape in Jersey City with this exciting event. And we are hopeful that we’ll be able to celebrate this year’s awards in person again!”

Jersey City is home to a large community of artists, galleries, performance spaces, arts organizations and more that contribute to both the cultural and economic growth of the city. Because of the pandemic, the 2020 Arts Awards were presented online. You can watch the full video presentation of the 2020 Arts Awards here. Previous award galas have been held at White Eagle Hall. Nominations for the 2021 Arts Awards will be accepted until September 15.
