The Jersey City Arts Council is able to offer a limited number of emergency relief grants to individuals working in the arts. The purpose of these grants is to help support artists’ basic living and career-sustaining needs due to the loss of work and earning opportunities caused by COVID-19 illness or related business disruptions.
All people who work professionally in the arts including (but not limited to) visual artists, literary artists, and performing artists, as well as teaching artists are eligible to apply. However, data has shown that the pandemic has disproportionately affected Black, Indigenous, and other People of Color (BIPOC). We strongly encourage those who have been disproportionately affected to apply.
Relief grants are available up to $1,000.
The Artist Recovery Fund is made possible by a grant from the New Jersey Arts & Culture Recovery Fund of the Princeton Community Foundation.
